Founder and CEO

Nathan is a seasoned executive with a background in high-performance imaging, product design, and engineering. Before joining Lyre Systems, he served as Managing Director at Cordin Company, where he led a successful turnaround from near bankruptcy to sustained profitability. Cordin designs and manufactures ultra high-speed camera systems and support equipment used by top government and academic research institutions worldwide. These systems integrate advanced optics, precision mechanics, analog/digital electronics, firmware, and software.

Earlier in his career, Nathan worked in slow-motion visual effects for film and television, leveraging a proprietary high-speed camera system he personally designed and built. He also held roles in product design with leading firms such as IDEO, Ecco Design, and Proteus.

Nathan holds a BA in Philosophy–Economics and both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. He also attended the Stanford d.school, where he deepened his expertise in design thinking.

Lead Data Scientist

Valentin is a researcher and professional with a strong track record of publications in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a particular focus on Evolutionary Computation. At his current role, he leads efforts to enhance deception detection models, prioritizing ethical considerations and model explainability. Valentin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and brings both academic rigor and practical insight to applied AI research. 

Chief Technical Officer

Dorian brings strategic product and technology leadership to the company, with a focus on building scalable platforms that enable sustainable growth. He has a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, driving complex transformations, and aligning innovation with long-term business value. With deep expertise in enterprise systems, cloud architecture, and operational efficiency, Dorian ensures the company’s technology roadmap is built for scale, resilience, and real-world impact. He holds a BBA in Management Information Systems and Finance, along with certifications in project management, agile delivery, and change leadership.

Lead Software Developer

Matt is a software engineer with over five years of experience in backend development, cloud architecture, and AI/ML solutions. He has a strong track record of building scalable SaaS products and client-focused applications that deliver measurable business value. At Lyre Systems, he plays a key role in designing and implementing the core infrastructure that powers the company’s deception detection platform. Matt holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Victoria.

Strategy Advisor

Brian was the Founder and President of Forensic Investigations Canada, which grew to be the largest private investigation firm in Canada. 

Brian has been in the investigation industry for 28 years and has successfully conducted and supervised thousands of assignments on behalf of private companies, public organizations, Crown corporations, and regulatory bodies. Brian has been licensed in every province in Canada and currently resides in Vancouver, BC
